About AYSO 715

Does the region have a website?

Yes. www.ayso715.org

When does the season start?

The Last Saturday in August

When does it end?

The last Saturday in OctoberWeather permitting, we play a 8 game season in 8 weeks.

When are the games?

All games are played on Saturdays.  If needed, makeup games will be played on Sunday.

What if it is raining?

You will be notified by your coach if a game has been cancelled.  Just because it is raining in Riverside or Rumford does not mean it is raining at EPHS.  Just because it is raining at 9am does not mean that the afternoon games can’t be played. Games are called off at game time by a collaborative effort between the Field Supervisor, the Referee Administrator and Division Directors.  Plan to play unless you hear from a coach.

Where do we play? East Providence High School.

Where do we practice? Practice sites are determined by the coach.  Field space is very limited in East Providence so you may have to transport your child across town to practice.  (Rumford to Riverside or the reverse is about 7 miles).

How can I make sure that  my child practices close to home?Volunteer to be a coach.

I don’t know anything about coaching soccer? We have clinics and mentors for all age levels.

How do I volunteer? All volunteers need to fill out a registration form.  These are available online, www.eayso.org, at in person registration or my emailing the register at register@ayso715.org

How often is practice? U5: There is no practice.U6 and U8: Some coaches practice 2x/week and some practice 1x/week (coach’s preference).U10, U12 and U14: Most coaches have practice 2x/week.

Where do I get a uniform? You only need to buy a uniform if you don’t already have one that fits. There will be someone from the Gob Shop at registration to take uniform orders. Uniforms are paid for on a separate check made out to The Gob Shop.

Can I request a specific team or coach? The U5s and U6s are placed on teams, as much as possible, according to neighborhoods.  This can only happen if we have a good ratio of coaches/players.  Ex:  in the U6 division there can only be 6 players on a roster so if we have 12 players from Riverside but only 1 coach – then someone has to travel to EP or Rumford for practice. In the U8, U10, U12 and U14 Divisions the players are placed onto teams by the computer using last year’s ratings. No requests are granted.

When will I hear from a coach? The coaches should get their rosters sometime around Aug 22nd.  Right after that time you will receive a call from your coach. If you have not heard from a coach, contact the division director.  A list of division directors is listed on the website.

When is picture day? Check our Calendar of Events Page.   Click Here for Calendar of Events

What if I don’t want a picture? Please have your child be in the picture even if you don’t want one.  The players that get them like to have everyone in the picture.

Who keeps track of the standings? For the fall house league, there are no standings

Why do we have a fundraiser? Fund raisers help with the cost of the program.  A decision about whether or not to have a fundraiser is made on a yearly basis depending on our anticipated expenses.  Some years there is a lot of new equipment (goals, nets, flags, paint) to be purchased.

What if I want my child to play at a higher level? Region 715 has a Secondary Season for those players/families who want to play at a higher level.  The teams are selected in the fall during the house league season.  Play is available for indoor sessions over the winter and in the state competitive league in the spring.  Be alert for more information on the Competitive Program.
